University of Phoenix Vice Provost Doris Savron to Speak at PESC Data Summit


University of Phoenix announces that Doris Savron, vice provost, is a featured speaker at PESC's (Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council) October 2022 Data Summit. The event will be held in Vancouver, BC, October 26-28, 2022. Savron's special session on "Skills, Competencies & Microcredentials - What Does It All Mean and Why Should I Care," will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 8:30am.

PESC is leading the establishment and adoption of trusted, free and open data standards across the education domain. The Summit will be an opportunity for leaders in education, policy-makers and technologists to learn about emerging initiatives and participate in discussions with leaders and experts surrounding access, implementation and integration of data systems.

"Over the last two years, University of Phoenix has built blueprints to work to align all programs and course learning outcomes to in-demand skills leveraging market data that incorporate employer needs," says Savron. "We've begun to pilot digital badges and our strategy for micro credentials. We will be sharing the lessons learned from this pilot, including approaches to facilitate scaleability and integration with both internal and external systems, and our future strategy as a result of these programs."

Doris Savron's career spans 30 years in healthcare, information technology and academia. In her role as Vice Provost, she oversees strategy for degree, certificate and course offerings, design of curriculum and student learning outcomes for the University. She works collaboratively with her team members to innovate academic solutions that enable the University to provide exceptional student experiences and learning environments to support student success.
