Canela Media Hires Leading Sports Content Executive, Felipe Osorio, To Lead Canela Sports


Osorio to lead expansion of Canela Sports offering with new content, partnerships

NEW YORK , Aug. 30, 2022   /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Canela Media, a leading, minority-owned technology driven company committed to redefining digital media experiences for the Hispanic community, today announced it has appointed Felipe Osorio to the newly created position of Vice President of Canela Sports, a channel on its free streaming platform service Canela.TV.

Canela Sports features 24 hours of the top live sports: fútbol, baseball, boxing, MMA, action sports and more. As VP of Canela Sports, Osorio will be responsible for expanding content offerings available to users through original content, acquisitions, partnerships and more.

Osorio comes to Canela from Univision Communications Inc. where he served as Vice President, Digital Editorial Operations. While there, he worked across Mexico & the U.S. to create innovative sports content for advertisers looking to reach Hispanics in two of the largest Spanish speaking markets. He also spearheaded the execution of multiple deals with key digital platforms, and directed the successful reorganization of the company's digital operations.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Minor in Economics from Northwestern University and a Masters of Business Administration with Specializations in Finance & Strategy from New York University.
