COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, July 29, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 1,460 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,145,558*;
• 16 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,945 deaths;
• 6,334 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 2,176 hospitalizations, including 738 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 46 compared to the previous day;
• 180 new entries,
• 226 new discharges;
• 68 people in intensive care, including 31 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 1 compared to the previous day;
• 13 new entries,
• 14 new discharges;
• 14,453 samples conducted on July 27;
• 266,855 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 222,934 positive: 348 declared for yesterday, including 307 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

• 9,229 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 20,317,537 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
