AshBritt Senior Vice President, Charles "Dow" Knight, Earns Promotion to Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve

AshBritt, the nation's leading turn-key rapid-response emergency management contractor, is proud to announce that Senior Vice President, Charles "Dow" Knight, will be promoted to Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve on October 1^st, 2022.

"Not only has Dow served our nation through military active duty and reserve components, but our company as well through his work leading response operations to more than 150 disaster recovery projects."

Knight is a seasoned veteran who has leveraged his military management and organizational skills to support disaster operations since joining the AshBritt team in 2003. Knight brings critical knowledge in navigating the many complexities in executing large-scale recovery projects, notably leading AshBritt's debris management project supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers response to the 2017 Northern California wildfires. Knight also led the two-year procurement process ending in AshBritt receiving the largest pre-positioned federal debris management contracts in history from the Department of Defense. Having served the company for nearly twenty years, Knight's maritime, military, and logistical experience has provided AshBritt with the key perspective to successfully execute a variety of response missions.

Knight is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. He has served in the Navy Reserves since 1993 and, in 2010, deployed overseas to fight terrorism as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Currently, he is the Commanding Officer of the Navy Reserve's Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center Detachment Charlie unit based in Port Hueneme, CA. A longtime resident of Pompano Beach, Knight currently lives locally with his wife, Maria, and sons Charlie, James, and William.
