Suffolk Strengthens Aviation Capabilities With Strategic Hires


Suffolk, one of the largest and most innovative real estate and construction enterprises in the country, has expanded its team of aviation construction experts in the Southeast region by hiring operations executives Mike Bowen and Raju Kaval. The new hires bolster the firm's capabilities and expertise in the aviation and transportation sector, allowing Suffolk to seamlessly deliver sophisticated, complex airport construction and renovation projects.

With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Mike Bowen has led major airport construction projects throughout the country, including the Baltimore International Airport Concourse C Widening; FLL Southwest Airlines Terminal 1 Modernization Program in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Los Angeles International Airport United Airlines East Aircraft Maintenance & GSE Complex; and the preconstruction effort on JFK T6 JetBlue International Terminal in New York.

Raju Kaval has three decades of global aviation experience. He helped oversee a $2 billion airport development program that consisted of a new terminal building, taxiways, runways, a multi-modal transportation hub and more at Bangalore International Airport in Bengaluru, India. Other projects in Mr. Kaval's diverse portfolio include an airport redevelopment program at Los Angeles International Airport, renovation and modernization at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan and various maintenance and renovation projects for the U.S. Army Reserve Centers in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland.

Suffolk is experienced managing airport operations and terminal construction. The company has completed and is currently managing more than $2.5 billion in construction and renovation projects for airports across the country, including Tampa International Airport, Boston Logan International Airport and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
