ADVault Executives to Present at Annual Conference of The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (AMDA)

ADVault's CEO Scott Brown and Senior Vice President of Innovation & External Affairs Maria Moen have been named to the faculty for the annual conference of The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, March 10-13 in Baltimore. Their presentation on improving accessibility to advance care planning documents and portable medical orders such as POLST and MOLST forms will be available on demand for both in-person and virtual attendees.

ADVault is the nation's leader in digital advance care planning. During their PALTC session Brown and Moen will discuss how Health Level 7 International, the world's largest healthcare data standards development organization, is working with the post-acute care interoperability community (PACIO) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to create the FHIR standards for interoperable data exchange, integration, sharing and retrieval of advance directive/advance care plan/portable medical order information.

The session will include a detailed overview of the standards work currently underway that enable a person's advance medical goals, preferences, and priorities for treatment to be accessible across healthcare settings to inform medical care and treatment. Attendees of the session will leave with an increased understanding of the issues this standards project addresses relative to the creation, update, access by family members, verification of authenticity, and versioning of the most current documentation and how that relates to their own operations and partner organizations.

Over the course of her more than 25 years in long-term post-acute care leadership roles, Moen has served on numerous boards and industry workgroups and is the current chair of the HIMSS LTPAC Committee. In late 2021 she was honored as an Interoperability Hero by DirectTrust, a non-profit healthcare industry alliance that recognizes those organizations, teams, and individuals integral to advancing interoperability.
