Northwest Federal Holds Staff "Souper Bowl" to Support NWFCU Foundation's Food for Kids Drive

Employees at Northwest Federal Credit Union held a friendly "Souper Bowl" competition in an effort to increase donations to Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation's Food for Kids Drive.

Northwest employees donated 12,640 food items as part of the "Souper Bowl" competition with each donation counted as a vote for the Bengals or the Rams. The winning Northwest team (donating the most items of food per person) was the Loan Servicing Department with an average of 155 donations per person. The overall winning football team was the Bengals.

"It was so inspiring to see the staff rally around this important cause," said President and CEO of Northwest Federal, Jeff Bentley. "The Foundation's annual Food for Kids Drive helps kids and families all across our community and our employees wanted to be an active part of that effort."

The NWFCU Foundation Food for Kids Drive is held in partnership with Giant Food. Food items are collected at select Giant grocery stores and at all Northwest branches. Northwest members have also donated to the drive through NWFCU Foundation's Food for Kids Amazon Wish List.

"It's so amazing to see those donations coming through our Amazon Wish List every day," said NWFCU Foundation Program/Fundraising Coordinator, Karen Foust. "Our members and our community have been really stepping up to provide donations and now the Northwest staff has really stepped up as well through this competition."

Contributions from the Food for Kids Drive are distributed to children and families in coordination with area schools. Donations will continue to be accepted in Northwest branches through March 31.
