Gaia Herbs Announces International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Certification for 24 In-House Testing Methods

Gaia Herbs, a leading natural herbal products brand in the United States, today announced that the company is officially certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)?a respected nonprofit that develops and publishes rigorous lab testing standards agreed on by an international team of experts?for 24 testing methods used in its in-house laboratory at the Gaia Herbs headquarters in Brevard, North Carolina.

Gaia Herbs received the ISO-17025 certification, which allows the company's in-house laboratory to be recognized nationally and globally for an ability to operate competently and to generate valid results at the highest standard, further helping its consumers to have the utmost confidence and trust in its lab team members and in its premium products. Among the 24 testing methods now certified are Gaia Herbs' microbial contamination testing, heavy metal contaminant testing, and label claim program testing. Additionally, one of Gaia Herbs' best-selling product lines, Turmeric Supreme®, will now be produced using an ISO-certified curcuminoid testing method to ensure the maximum level of accuracy of these beneficial active constituents per serving.

"For over 30 years, Gaia Herbs has created the highest-quality herbal supplements known for their traceability and transparency, and with this certification we take our credibility one step further," said Jim Geikie, President and CEO of Gaia Herbs. "We invested in the ISO-17025 certification to emphasize that our methods and practices truly exemplify an industry gold standard, backed by scientific reasoning and third-party expertise. The ISO-17025 certification validates our place as a leader in the natural products industry and holds our brand accountable with ongoing audits, rules, and regulations."

Though the ISO lab accreditation is new, Gaia Herbs will continue to do what it has done since the company was founded in 1987: connect people, plants, and planet to create healing. As Gaia Herbs looks to expand its offerings in both the healthcare practitioner and retail sectors, the ISO-17025 certification is a testament to Gaia's mission of producing products that are pure, potent, and transparent. The certification must be renewed each year after review by an ISO auditor, ensuring that Gaia Herbs will continue to deliver products of superior quality for its customers.

In addition to the new ISO accreditation, Gaia Herbs maintains its industry-leading Meet Your Herbs® traceability program. Through this program, consumers can enter the ID number located on the back of any Gaia Herbs product to discover the origin of its ingredients; learn how the herbs were grown, harvested, and extracted; and see the results of tests the product underwent to validate its purity, potency, and integrity. Gaia Herbs allows consumers to do this for a simple reason: It has nothing to hide and everything to share, and the company believes that everyone has the right to know what they are putting in their body.

All Gaia Herbs products are sold through natural and independently owned health food stores across the nation as well as through gaiaherbs.com and other trusted online retail sites. To find a store near you, visit gaiaherbs.com/stores.
