WASHINGTON, Dec. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB), the voice of the mortgage industry representing the interests of mortgage professionals and home buyers since 1973, plans for a groundbreaking 2022. This includes an aggressive legislative agenda, the introduction of state-of-the-art professional development tools for members, and a new program targeting young leaders within the marketplace.
The organization recently held a successful NAMB National, the first in-person event hosted by NAMB in nearly a year, which featured many educational break-out sessions for the 2,300 attendees, as well as several networking opportunities and professional development tracks. During the conference, NAMB named its new executive board of directors for 2022: Linda McCoy (Board President), Ernest Jones Jr. (President-Elect,), Valerie Saunders (Vice President), Arthur Carrasco (Treasurer), and Michael DeSantis (Secretary).
"As we move into 2022, NAMB is positioned for a great year with our new board of directors who will work tirelessly to enhance the marketplace, direct our events such as NAMB Focus 2022, and manage our critical legislative agenda," said Linda McCoy, Board President.
NAMB's legislative agenda is detailed for the upcoming year. In late 2021, NAMB formed a new partnership with noted lobbying entity, The Williams Group, to help guide NAMB as it works to positively impact the marketplace. With this relationship, NAMB will work tirelessly with members of Congress to reverse many laws that negatively impact both the consumer and mortgage professionals, including these three critical topics that derail the industry:
"For years, NAMB has championed these causes, and others, on behalf of consumers and the entire mortgage industry," added McCoy. "We forged a strong relationship with The Williams Group, and we look forward to their support as we advocate to congressional leaders for positive change including, finally, removing damaging trigger leads, and additional items that hinder the marketplace. We are laser-focused on making it easier and safer for consumers and mortgage professionals to conduct business."
Offering professional development tools and training(s) for members remains a key initiative for NAMB in 2022. The organization will offer its members a host of new development programs including the best certification classes available such as its noted veteran and credit certification program. In addition, the organization will help members maximize their usage of NAMB+, a program made up of select companies who provide industry products and services to help NAMB members in their day-to-day business activities.
Additionally, in January, the organization will launch NAMB Future Leaders, a new initiative designed to recruit young professionals into the mortgage workforce and offer leadership programs for NAMB members that are early in their careers. Also, during NAMB National 2021, the organization also launched "Women Who Lead" a mentoring group to encourage women to become leaders in the marketplace.
"The state of the mortgage industry relies on young talented professionals to help lead our marketplace into a bright future," said McCoy. "NAMB is going to offer exciting tools and educational opportunities to help mentor members' professional growth and engage those interested in mortgage-based careers to ensure the industry grows and is fortified with smart and engaged future leaders."
