Imply to Debut Accreditation Program for Apache Druid® Basics, Giving Developers the Foundation for Building Modern Analytics Applications

Imply, founded by the original creators of Apache Druid®, will debut the Imply Accreditation Program for Apache Druid Basics at Druid Summit 2021. Only those who have registered for Druid Summit 2021 will have early access to the accreditation program, which is built to provide anyone new to the Apache Druid database with all the foundational skills needed to develop interactive, modern analytics applications.

The inaugural session will be hosted during Druid Summit 2021, a virtual conference happening Nov. 9-10 across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. The Imply Accreditation Program for Apache Druid Basics begins by demonstrating how to set up a local environment, followed by instruction on architecture, the importance of processes and how they interact with each other. Delegates then learn how to ingest data into Druid and finally how to query it.

Each of the four modules is delivered via a hands-on, dedicated environment so students will "learn by doing" without having to dedicate internal hardware or cloud resources. The course concludes with an exam that checks and reinforces the concepts introduced in the modules. Once students successfully complete the course and exam, they will receive a badge to use on their social media profiles and in other relevant areas.

Adoption of Apache Druid and the Imply database has grown exponentially in the past three years with more than 1,200 organizations and 11,000 members now active in the worldwide community. Imply has extensive, hands-on, real-world experience with Druid as all four original creators of Apache Druid are driving innovation at Imply, serving as the company's CEO, CTO, CPO and field CTO.

"With so many companies looking for top Druid talent, Imply wants to contribute not just code but also the rich experience and knowledge of Druid to the developer community," said Rachel Pedreschi, vice president community and developer relations, Imply. "We have invested in the first hands-on Apache Druid Basics Accreditation Program course and accreditation exam as part of the expanding Druid University program to codify this experience and pass it on to the greater community. Companies looking for Druid developers will be able to easily identify their expertise with the Druid accreditation badge."
