Land Trust Alliance Convenes Rally 2021 Amid National Eagerness for Action on Climate Change

WASHINGTON, Oct. 4, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Land Trust Alliance, a national land conservation organization working to save the places people need and love by strengthening land conservation across America, is hosting virtually this week the nation's largest gathering of land conservation leaders.

More than 2,600 people from throughout the United States and other countries will attend Rally 2021: The National Land Conservation Conference, which begins Oct. 5 and concludes Oct. 7. Attendees will hear from multiple keynote speakers of national renown, including Dr. Mark Anderson, who directs The Nature Conservancy's Center for Resilient Conservation Science, and Dr. Dorceta Taylor, professor at the Yale School for the Environment.

Land Trust Alliance President & CEO Andrew Bowman said the virtual gathering comes at a moment when Americans are eager for action on climate change.

A recent national poll from Long Island University Steven S. Hornstein Center for Policy, Polling and Analysis shows 73% of Americans agree global warming is "a serious and pressing problem." Moreover, 65% of Americans say the United States is doing "too little" to combat climate change.

"Land conservation offers a way forward," Bowman said. "Land trusts ? and the work they do permanently conserving lands and helping capture carbon from the atmosphere ? are an important part of how we fight climate change. And as will be affirmed during Rally, the Land Trust Alliance is committed to catalyzing private land conservation by ensuring land trusts have the necessary vision, tools, capacity and resources."

Featuring 63 workshops and six virtual tours in addition to three plenary sessions and multiple networking opportunities, Rally 2021 is the nation's largest annual gathering of land conservation professionals. Attendees will connect with their peers, advance their skills and work to solve some of their greatest professional challenges. More information about Rally is available at alliancerally.org.
