Attorney Bridget Duignan Announces Candidacy for 3rd Vice President of the Illinois State Bar Association

CHICAGO, Oct. 1, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Chicago Attorney Bridget Duignan is excited to announce her candidacy for 3rd Vice President of the Illinois State Bar Association, an organization that she has actively served since 2008. Bridget is a managing partner at Latherow & Duignan, a Chicago personal injury firm, where she focuses on medical negligence, sexual abuse, construction negligence, and wrongful death matters.

Bridget is passionate about making a positive impact within the legal community and utilizing her legal competencies and capabilities to help those most in need. She understands that the purpose of the ISBA is to benefit attorneys and their clients, as well as to advance the profession. To that end, should Bridget be elected, she aims to harness all of what she has accomplished within the ISBA with an eye towards equity and modernization to address the current struggles of attorneys, from solo-practitioners to those working in large law firms, especially in establishing and maintaining a work-life balance.

She seeks to bring awareness and assistance to those who have been disproportionately affected by the recent pandemic faced by this country and around the globe. Not only is Bridget an attorney in private practice, but she is also a small-business owner and a mother. This unique perspective provides her an in-depth understanding of what challenges working parents face in the workplace and throughout the legal community. Additionally, she has dedicated much of her time working to eradicate workplace discrimination and harassment and is committed to continuing those efforts as ISBA President.

As a leader in the legal community, Bridget fervently supports her colleagues. She is unafraid to challenge current norms and demand improvements each step of the way. If elected, she will work to address workplace pain points not only seen in law offices but seen in almost all industries today, with a concentration on the unprecedented obstacles faced by employers and employees, post pandemic, and those who now work remotely.

Bridget Duignan has dedicated substantial efforts over the years serving the ISBA. She was first elected to the Assembly in 2008 and served two terms. She went on to serve the Board of Governors, first in the Under 37 Seat, then for an additional two terms, during which time she also served as Treasurer and Secretary. She has actively served on a variety of standing committees and section councils. She is the current Secretary of the Illinois Lawyers' Political Action Committee and current Chair of the Tort Section Council.

"After spending almost fifteen years as an active member of the ISBA, it is with pride and enthusiasm that I announce my candidacy for the 3rd Vice President of the ISBA. Alongside other leaders and members of the ISBA, I aspire to foster and cultivate difficult conversations required to improve the landscape of the legal profession. By setting higher expectations and making equity a priority, I hope to nurture the strength and success of my colleagues, our clients, and the ISBA as a whole," Bridget commented.
