Save Our Allies Will Support Afghan Allies at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 23, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Save Our Allies (SOA), part of The Independence Fund and Mighty Oaks Foundation, announced it will partner with multiple agencies at a Safe Harbor location at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin to provide relief to Afghans for 45 days, starting September 30. Nick Palmisciano, Vice President of Save Our Allies, will be boots on the ground at Fort McCoy and Chad Robichaux, Founder of Mighty Oaks Foundation, is returning to the Middle East to continue evacuation efforts. This week, Save Our Allies worked with The Nazarene Fund to evacuate the Afghan FIFA soccer team, 95 girls total from Afghanistan. The need for assistance continues in the Middle East and in the U.S.

Through an Amazon Wish List, SOA has received nearly 2,000 packages with supplies for Afghans resettling in the U.S. With more items being needed from the Wish List, there is also a need for 80 volunteers at Fort McCoy to help Afghans settling stateside before moving to their new communities in the U.S. Volunteers can register here.

During Phase 1 of its evacuation efforts in Afghanistan, Save Our Allies' Task Force 6:8 successfully evacuated over 12,000 individuals, including Americans, Afghans, interpreters, widows, orphans, and Christians. Evacuation efforts continue with Save our Allies partnering with other NGO groups to provide safe houses, overland evacuation, and other paths in concert with United States Government Agencies.

Save Our Allies is now in Phase 2, Operation New Hope. Phase 2 is focused on resettlement efforts for Afghan Allies and their families. SOA is working with the U.S. and foreign governments to ensure that each of our evacuees is treated humanely, with dignity and all the proper care to ensure a smooth transition to their new home so that they might find new hope and a new beginning.
