Tyto Athene's 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises Over $53,000 for the Fisher House Foundation
Tyto Athene, LLC, an IT services and solutions company headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, announced today that it has raised over $53,000 at their 13th Annual Golf Tournament, all of which has been donated to the Fisher House Foundation.
Held on September 9th, over 120 golfers gathered at 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Virginia to join in the tournament. The total donation amount came from contributions by the sponsors, golfers, and charitable gifts from the attendees of the tournament.
The Fisher House is a private-public partnership that supports members of the Armed Forces, retirees, veterans, and their families. Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital. These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world. In 2020 alone, 13,000 families were served. Fisher House Foundation also operates the Hero Miles program, using donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members as well as the Hotels for Heroes program using donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers without charge. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses, and children of fallen and disabled veterans.

Tyto Athene held their first Charity Golf Tournament in 2007 in collaboration with the local Department of Information Management (DOIM) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina to raise funds for a local Fisher House to be built at Fort Bragg. This effort grew into an annual charitable event that was held at a local Fayetteville, NC public golf course for the first 5 years until the venue was moved to Northern Virginia in 2012. Over the past 13 years, Tyto's charity event has raised over $350,000 for the Fisher House Foundation. To maximize the funds donated, Tyto Athene covers all the costs associated with the tournament to ensure that hundred percent of proceeds collected are donated directly to the Fisher House.
