SPM Creates New Division for Multifamily Construction Management and Hires Vice President

SPM today announced the creation of SPM Building Services, LLC and the appointment of Anthony Alsup, as the company's vice president, asset services. SPM Building Services will provide construction management services for large capital projects and value-add renovations for multifamily properties.

"SPM Building Services is a natural evolution of SPM's overall service offerings" said Bill Welden, SPM's president. "This builds on our decades of experience in delivering value-add rehab and adds critical expertise and bandwidth to our teams. Our clients can take advantage of a one-stop shop for their multifamily property management and construction management needs."

Alsup will direct all SPM Building Services activities as part of a broader Asset Services function wherein he will also be responsible for financial planning and analysis, maintenance and facilities and asset management activities on behalf of SPM and its multifamily apartment communities. Alsup joins a team that includes professionals in the areas of financial planning and analysis, property maintenance and facilities and project management.

Alsup was selected through a national search process. He is joining the firm in Birmingham after relocating from Denver, where he most recently oversaw Asset Management activities for a real estate investment firm with $1B AUM.

"The need for this highly specialized construction management skillset within our property management group is more evident than ever and we are thrilled to welcome Alsup to SPM to lead this initiative," said SPM's Executive Vice President, Mitchell G. Smith. "His experience will add significant capability and strength to our team."
