Invitation to the Media - OURANOS IPCC report


MONTREAL, Aug. 5, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - OURANOS invites the media to an information session on the 6th climate change assessment report published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). OURANOS and its experts will explain the most crucial aspects of the report and their impacts on climate change in Quebec. The activity will be held virtually with the participation of scientific panellists such as Gregory M. Flato (ECCC, vice-Chair, IPCC Working Group 1), Damon Matthews (Concordia University), Patrick Grenier and Caroline Larrivée (OURANOS) and will be moderated by Alain Bourque, Director General of OURANOS.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) to assess scientific information on climate change, to measure the consequences of these changes on the environment and society, and to formulate realistic mitigation strategies.

About OURANOS
Ouranos was created in 2001 out of the shared vision of the Government of Québec, Hydro-Québec and Environment Canada, with funding from Valorisation-Recherche-Québec. Ouranos's mission is to develop rigorous scientific knowledge to help Quebec society better adapt to climate change.
