O'Charley's Expands and Elevates its ?Hometown Heroes' Charitable Initiative

Today, O'Charley's Restaurant + Bar announced the expansion and elevation of Hometown Heroes, a philanthropic endeavor aimed at showing appreciation for the heroes who step up to provide help in moments of crisis while also keeping their communities safe and healthy.

Hometown Heroes' 2021 campaign will honor hospital staff and first responders, active-duty military and veterans, teachers, and childcare workers.

"Our dedication to service at O'Charley's extends beyond our restaurants and dining rooms ? giving back to the communities where we are blessed to work is woven into everything we do," said CEO Craig Barber. "Through Hometown Heroes, we are pleased to provide food to families affected by devastating disasters, raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for the families of fallen soldiers through our support for the Folded Flag Foundation and much more.

"In the next phase of Hometown Heroes, we will be serving free meals to local hospital staff and first responders in our markets to honor them for their 24/7 commitment to keeping us safe and healthy," continued Barber. "Cities where we'll be delivering food include Charleston, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Clarksville, Columbus, Dayton, Greensboro, Indianapolis, Lexington, Louisville, Mobile, Nashville, Richmond and Tuscaloosa. We are blessed to serve our guests in those areas and are excited to show our appreciation over the next two weeks."

In addition to delivering meals to on-the-clock healthcare staff, O'Charley's will also be giving a free slice of pie to nurses who dine in stores during National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and to EMS personnel during EMS Week (May 16-22). All these guests need to do is show a valid ID/badge to receive this offer.

Beginning anew in the summer, O'Charley's will continue their longstanding tradition of working with Folded Flag to support the spouses and children of fallen soldiers by providing educational scholarships and grants. They will also work directly with military and veterans' organizations to provide support and offer appreciation to US military heroes in conjunction with Veterans' Day.

Also in the fall, as students and teachers return to school after summer break, O'Charley's will recognize the teachers and childcare staff who dedicate themselves to shaping the heroes of tomorrow.
