Invitation to Media - Press Conference on Investments to Support Gaspésie Tourism Sector


GASPÉ, QC, Jan. 15, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

To support organizations in the tourism sector and prepare them for an eventual recovery, the Government of Canada will announce financial assistance in several regions across Quebec on January 18 and 19, 2021.

The Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Member of Parliament for Gaspésie?Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue, invites media representatives to a press conference on support for Cime Aventures Inc. and the Coopérative de solidarité de développement touristique, économique et social de Mont-St-Pierre. In addition, the Minister Responsible for the Chaudière-Appalaches, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie?Îles-de-la-Madeleine Regions, Marie-Eve Proulx, and Minister Lebouthillier, will announce financial assistance for the Municipalité de Grande-Vallée.

The announcement of the CED financial contributions will be made on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages.

Tourism is a major economic engine in Quebec generating many jobs. This sector was hit hard due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the impacts could last several months, and even years.
