Family Engagement Lab Announces Appointments of Chief Impact Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Head of Partnerships

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 12, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- It is with great pride that Family Engagement Lab announces the expansion of its leadership team to accelerate the impact of family engagement on student learning. Family Engagement Lab welcomes Marci Goldberg as Chief Operating Officer, Hailey Kuhn as Head of Partnerships, and promotes Dr. Elisabeth O'Bryon to Chief Impact Officer.

The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the critical role that families play in a child's education. There is growing demand to build educator and family partnerships to support student academic success and recover lost learning time. Family Engagement Lab is committed to addressing this critical need among historically underserved families, particularly linguistically diverse families, through its family engagement work. The combination of Dr. O'Bryon, Goldberg, and Kuhn on the leadership team positions Family Engagement Lab to grow its impact on a much larger scale.

"We are excited to welcome these seasoned education professionals to lead our organization," says Vidya Sundaram, CEO of Family Engagement Lab. "Together, Elisabeth, Marci, and Hailey bring deep expertise across research, operations, marketing, and business development so that our organization can grow to meet today's urgent needs."

In her new Chief Impact Officer role, Dr. Elisabeth O'Bryon will lead research and development of innovative tools and services that center on the needs of families, promote research-informed approaches to family engagement that adhere to inclusive, equitable, and anti-racist practices, and ensure continued impact. Dr. O'Bryon co-founded Family Engagement Lab with Vidya Sundaram in 2016. Prior to founding Family Engagement Lab, Dr. O'Bryon was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and Director of Research and Evaluation at GreatSchools. She is also the co-author of 45 Strategies that Support Young Dual Language Learners, a book that provides practical strategies for supporting children and families from diverse backgrounds and creating inclusive early childhood classrooms.

K-12 industry veteran Marci Goldberg has joined the national nonprofit as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Goldberg will ensure that the organization's operational processes effectively support its growth. Goldberg has 20 years of experience in management, technology, and K-12 education having played key leadership and advisory roles at dozens of educational organizations. Prior to this position, Goldberg was President and Founder of K-12 Market Advisors, leading marketing and business strategy for growing educational nonprofits and businesses. Earlier in her career, Goldberg headed marketing and professional development at Tom Snyder Productions, a Scholastic company, and drove change management at Chicago Public Schools.

Also joining the leadership team is Hailey Kuhn, who will serve as the nonprofit's Head of Partnerships. In this new role, Kuhn will expand relationships and build new partnerships to accelerate the organization's growth. Kuhn has held leadership roles in business development and sales for pre-K-16 and corporate learning organizations during her 23 years of education technology experience. Kuhn has held key strategic positions at edtech companies including Harcourt, Skillsoft, Blackboard, Waterford Institute, and Clever. She brings both versatility and depth to this new partnership role with her knowledge of industry-leading companies and their technologies that span curriculum, assessment, learning management, communication, data interoperability, and enterprise data management.
