Greenberg Traurig's Andrew Smith Recognized as 'Rising Star' by Atlanta Business Chronicle Leaders in Corporate Citizenship Awards


ATLANTA, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Andrew Z. Smith, a litigation associate in global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP's Atlanta office, has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2021 Leaders in Corporate Citizenship Awards. Honorees will be recognized at a virtual event on Feb. 18, 2020.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Corporate Citizenship Awards recognize individuals who have found the perfect intersection of social good and corporate success by integrating relevant societal concerns into their core operating strategies and embracing them as positive for businesses, customers, employees, and the metro Atlanta community.

Smith is passionate about serving his community, and does so through board positions, advocacy for underserved populations, and pro bono work. Within Greenberg Traurig, Smith serves as pro bono chair of the Atlanta office's Associate Committee, a role he has held since 2018. His pro bono works includes helping members of the transgender community petition for legal name changes and volunteering with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer Foundation (AVLF) where he sits on the Leadership Council. In addition, Smith holds positions with several organizations, including serving as vice chair for the Board of Trustees for Quality Care for Children, one of the largest nonprofit organizations in Georgia. He also serves on the Young Alumni/Alumna Committee for University of Georgia Law School, and serves on the Atlanta Leadership Committee for Lambda Legal.

Smith focuses his legal practice on complex commercial litigation and business disputes, as well as data and privacy protection issues, products liability, and insurance coverage litigation. His experience extends to both state and federal courts and involves all phases of a dispute, including pre-litigation, discovery, trial, and appeal. Smith also has broad experience in electronic discovery, including advising clients regarding legal hold obligations to assisting with collection, search, and production of data. Additionally, he has experience with litigation counseling, including security preparedness and data breach response coverage.
