The American Journal of Managed Care® Announces the Addition of Highmark Health to Its Strategic Alliance Partnership Program

The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®), the leading multimedia peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues in managed care, has added Highmark Health to its Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) program.

"Highmark strives to provide its members with affordable and accessible health care focused on outcomes and putting the patient first," said Mike Hennessy Jr., president and CEO of MJH Life Sciencestm, the parent company of AJMC®. "We look forward to working with Highmark Health and providing information to its network of providers and improving the health care system."

Highmark Health is a national, blended health organization that includes one of America's largest Blue Cross Blue Shield insurers and a growing regional hospital and physician network. For the past several year Highmark has been on a journey to transform health, not just healthcare. The new strategy is built around uniting payors, providers and strategic partners to better serve customers and clinicians and to reengage people with their health, use technology to great effect and eliminate the barriers of access and cost that get in the way of delivering health care.

"Today, our providers are facing unique challenges with meeting the demands of an ever-changing healthcare landscape," said Michael Samczak, Director Value-Based Clinical Performance & Development, at Highmark. "It is critical that we find new ways to promote and support our provider partners in their efforts to improve the care and experience of our members. Our partnership with AJMC allows us to expand our reach and engage in new and exciting ways."

The AJMC® SAP program is building a community of advocacy groups, medical associations and medical institutions to foster collaboration and an open exchange of information for the ultimate benefit of patients and their families. As part of this joint effort, AJMC® will work with Highmark Health to deliver valuable information to providers with the goal of improving overall delivery of care.
