Local Businesses Match Gifts to the Davis Phinney Foundation

LOUISVILLE and BOULDER, Colo., Nov. 24, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Davis Phinney Foundation is grateful to announce that Tebo Properties and the O'Connor Group have pledged to match all donations made to the foundation on Colorado Gives Day up to $14,000. All gifts received on Dec. 8 by the Foundation through Colorado Gives Day will go directly toward supporting free resources to help people with Parkinson's live well today.

"We are so honored to receive this boost of support from Tebo Properties and the O'Connor Group," says Claire Herritz, Development Officer for the Foundation. "They have been supporters of the Davis Phinney Foundation for several years, and this matching gift will help us raise funds to provide new and innovative resources and to fund quality-of-life research in 2021."

The Davis Phinney Foundation, based in Louisville, Colo., was founded in 2004 by world-renowned cyclist and Boulder native Davis Phinney and his wife, Olympian Connie Carpenter Phinney, after he received a diagnosis of young onset Parkinson's at the age of 40.

The Foundation helps hundreds of thousands of individuals, their families, and their care partners pursue the path to living well with Parkinson's every year. The Victory Summit virtual events, Every Victory Counts manual, and new Healthy Parkinson's Communities program are just a few of the programs gifts made on Colorado Gives Day will support.

"I had the pleasure of watching Davis grow up and launch his cycling career in Colorado. From victories in the Coors Classic to the Tour de France, he now brings the passion and drive that made him one of the most successful American cyclists ever to providing support and inspiration to others fighting Parkinson's. It is my honor to support the ongoing efforts of the Davis Phinney Foundation and the thousands of lives they touch every year," said Stephen Tebo, founder and owner of Tebo Properties.

Community First Foundation and FirstBank present Colorado Gives Day, an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. To date, more than $355 million has been donated to Colorado nonprofits since 2007. The event is powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round, online giving platform. Donors can easily search profiles on the site and make safe and secure donations.

Donors can join Tebo Properties and the O'Conner Group by making a gift, amplified by their generous match, on Colorado Gives Day, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, here: http://coloradogives.org/DavisPhinneyFoundation.

Donors can also participate early on Giving Tuesday by scheduling a donation for Colorado Gives Day. All gifts scheduled in advance will be counted toward the matching incentive.
