Church Pension Group to Host Virtual Conversation on Sustainable Investing

The Church Pension Group (CPG), a financial services organization that serves The Episcopal Church, announced that it will host another installment of its Insights & Ideas series of conversations featuring experts on socially responsible investing and sustainable investing on Monday, November 16, 2020, from 1:15 to 2:30PM ET. Mary Kate Wold, CEO and President of CPG, will facilitate the discussion.

All clergy, lay employees, and volunteers who serve the Church are invited to register at cpg.org/Insights&Ideas. Participants will learn what makes a company sustainable for the long term and how environmental, social, and governance issues impact investments.

"We are pleased to host this virtual conversation on sustainable investing, a topic of importance to both the Church and CPG," said Ms. Wold. "Delivering consistent performance while supporting the values of the Church is fundamental to our long-term investment strategy. In practice, many of our ethical values are also economic values, and we work to engage our portfolio companies and fund managers in these areas. We believe that encouraging companies to consider these values in their strategic decisions, guided by sustainability expertise in management, can drive long-term shareholder value. I encourage all Episcopalians who have an interest in learning more to join us online on November 16."

The event will include an expert panel discussion on sustainable investing featuring Margaret "Peggy" M. Foran, Chief Governance Officer, SVP, and Corporate Secretary, Prudential Financial, Inc., Veena Ramani, Senior Program Director, Capital Market Systems, Ceres, Christopher Rowe, Managing Director, Investments, Church Pension Group, and the Rev. Kirsten Spalding, Senior Program Director, Investor Network, Ceres.

Videos and presentations from prior Insights & Ideas events can be found at cpg.org/Insights&Ideas.
