NEW YORK, Oct. 1, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- LuminoCity Festival, the stunning holiday spectacular of light sculptures, announced today its return to Randall's Island Park in New York City from November 27th, 2020 - January 10th, 2021. Presenting a brand new theme and never-before-seen art installations, LuminoCity will pop-up for 29 nights and offer visitors a unique opportunity to venture through a wonderland of fantastical ancient civilizations, lush luminated jungles, and mystical towering light art displays over 30ft. high. The immersive outdoor event will be a festive, socially-distanced, and timed-entry experience for guests of all ages.

The sparkling light park invites visitors on a 30-45 minute walking, narrative journey through five distinct sets, which bring to life chapters of an original story starring Lumi, a magical light bulb and the host of the festival. Guests will be transported to different dreamlike worlds through the Mysterious Forest, Dangerous Dunes, Forgotten Ruins, Hidden Land of Hria, and Mystical Moon Land, all while uncovering a beautiful tale of love, loss and life illustrated by the stunning installations. In the "Pop Culture" area of the park, visitors will encounter 12 light sculptures of famous cat & dog influencers - including @smoothiethecat - reimagined as the 12 zodiac constellations which play a role in the overarching Lumi adventure story.

In addition to wandering through 10 acres of the enchanting light park, festival-goers can visit the open-air Mini Gallery, which introduces the history and culture behind the lantern-making traditions that inspired the origin of LuminoCity, as well as a behind the scenes look at the light construction. The Lumi Gift Shop will offer an array of merchandise perfect for holiday gifts and take-home memories. The limited edition Lumi Night Light will be an extra special memento, as guests can carry a spark of light back with them after the event. Food trucks will be on-site and lined up to offer warm treats. The entire experience will be topped off with a glistening 26ft. tall Christmas Tree decked with bulbs, making the perfect backdrop for holiday photos and Instagram posts.

"We are bringing an entirely new event theme, narrative, and experience to NYC this year," says Xiayoi Chen, Founder of LuminoCity Festival, "We want to create a brief and wondrous escape from reality, inspired by an original story we've written to guide visitors through the park. It explores the delicate relationship between humans and nature, and will hopefully provoke a deeper consideration of the world around us. We look forward to presenting a safe, well-produced, and heartwarming event for everyone who wants to come get lost among the lights."

"We are excited to welcome LuminoCity back to Randall's Island Park and applaud those that worked to ensure this event will be done safely pursuant to guidance from City, State and public health authorities. LuminoCity Inc. is a multimedia entertainment company that transforms captivating stories into multidimensional experiences. By exploring the intersection of art forms, LuminoCity seeks to blur the lines between virtuality and reality when curating unforgettable experiences for all audiences. In the inaugural year of 2019, LuminoCity proudly held its signature event: LuminoCity Festival, a month-long holiday event with an exhibition of spectacular light art displays, live performances, and a celebration of cultures.

The inspiration behind LuminoCity Festival comes from the traditional art of Chinese lantern festivals, intertwined with modern design and storytelling. Zigong City, located in the Sichuan province, is the native town of LuminoCity's founder, and the epicenter of lantern manufacture and lantern festival production. It is also home to the world's most skilled lantern artists and hosts an annual lantern festival that attracts more than two million people. LuminoCity is rooted in the Zigong festival industry, as the journey of producing the LuminoCity Festival begins there with the manufacturing of light structures. ??

By bringing the two-thousand-year history of the Chinese lantern festival to New York City through an extraordinary new light artform, the LuminoCity Festival creates a reality full of magical wonder and thrilling adventure for all to enjoy. With each festival, a new and original Lumi's Adventure story is written and turned into a larger-than-life light art experience.
