OmniSYS Announces New Medicare Prescription Plan Comparison Solution at No Cost to Customers

DALLAS, Sept. 29, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- OmniSYS, a leading healthcare technology company focused on helping retail pharmacies become health hubs for their communities, announced today that it is integrating digital Medicare enrollment capabilities into its suite of software solutions.

"Empowering pharmacists with tools that help Medicare beneficiaries easily find pharmacy-friendly plans that also save them money is a win for everyone," said John King, OmniSYS chief executive officer.

By partnering with a leading health insurance enrollment provider, OmniSYS will be integrating Medicare prescription plan comparison capabilities into its patient communication and Electronic Health Record (EHR) solutions, providing pharmacists and patients easy access to health insurance and prescription benefit plans that meet the needs of both the patient and the pharmacy.

"The cost of prescription drugs is a top concern for many Medicare beneficiaries, but their drug needs and coverage may change from year to year," said OmniSYS chief innovation officer David Pope, PharmD, CDE. "By integrating prescription drug comparison technology into workflow solutions used by pharmacies, we enable pharmacists to help Medicare beneficiaries navigate the annual enrollment period to review their coverage options and help them save money by selecting the optimal plan for their prescription needs."

OmniSYS's plan comparison solution will identify and analyze a patient's current drug regimen. The pharmacist and patient can then see plan options which cover their drugs at the lowest combined premium and out-of-pocket cost, and the potential savings that would be realized if they switched to the recommended plan. Furthermore, using OmniSYS's patient communication solution, pharmacies have the ability to promote this service through targeted awareness campaigns. The integrated plan comparison functionality and patient awareness campaigns will be made available to OmniSYS customers at no additional cost.

"As an innovator which has a passion for providing superior technology solutions to pharmacies, we are excited to bring this new capability to market," said King. "We are also excited to help our customers save money by reducing their technology spend while continuing to add more value to their current OmniSYS investment."
