Greenberg Traurig's Jana E. Harris, Ph.D. to Speak on Boston Bar Association's Friday Fundamentals Webinar


BOSTON, Sept. 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Jana E. Harris, Ph.D., an Intellectual Property and Technology Practice associate in the Boston office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will be a speaker on the Boston Bar Association's (BBA) Friday Fundamentals webinar series on Friday, Oct. 2 at 12:00 p.m. EST.

The BBA's Friday Fundamentals session, "Introduction to Intellectual Property," will provide an overview and introduction to the various types of intellectual property for new attorneys and law students. The program will also discuss how to identify the types of intellectual property and the current industry issues that new lawyers need to know. Friday Fundamentals is the BBA's weekly educational series designed to offer an introduction to the basic legal skills and fundamental knowledge attorneys need to know to grow in their understanding of a given area of law practice.

Harris is a registered patent attorney and focuses her patent practice on technologies in the life sciences industry. She represents start-ups, universities, and life science companies with technologies relating to oncology, immuno-oncology, gene-editing, biomarkers, diagnostics, biologics, stem cell compositions, proteomics, genetics, food and agriculture science, drug delivery and medical devices. Prior to practicing law, she obtained her Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology from Vanderbilt University and was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Anesthesiology.
