­­­­Netherlands' National Police Unit Using Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses in Police Work Study

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Sept. 1, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Vuzix® Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), ("Vuzix" or, the "Company"), a leading supplier of Smart Glasses and Augmented Reality (AR) technology and products, announced that Netherlands' National Police Unit is actively using Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses to conduct an investigation into the use of augmented reality by its police force.

The investigation, which follows preliminary testing in laboratory situations, is being undertaken in collaboration with the universities of Leiden and Twente and the country's police academy. Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses are being used by both mounted and on-foot police officers to provide heads-up hands-free route information for unfamiliar areas as well as additional information including notifications of crimes, suspect pursuit and troublesome locations. Initial officer feedback from use the field this summer has been positive.
