Savoy Foundation Funds 100,000 Children's Meals During Covid Crisis Through Its Third Annual "Virtual" Notte di Savoia in Los Angeles

NEW YORK, Aug. 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The American Foundation of Savoy Orders (Savoy Foundation) presented the $100,000 grant to Southern California charity - Caterina's Club - to feed homeless and motel children. In response to the devastating impact of the COVID pandemic, the American Foundation of Savoy Orders re-launched its West Coast spring charity gala - the Third Annual Notte di Savoia Los Angeles- previously scheduled for April 4, 2020 at the Montage Resort in Beverly Hills, into a virtual fundraising campaign extending through June 30, 2020. The grant will increase meal production and distribution to children of families in need who are impacted by the closure of schools and cancellation of supplemental school meal programs. Caterina's Club is led by Serato in memory of his late mother, who has also kept helping families move from their cars and hotel rooms to apartments, thereby changing their lives.

Carl Morelli, Chairman of the Board and Joseph Sciame, President jointly stated: "We are delighted to present this grant to our Savoy Orders' member Bruno Serato in behalf of Caterina's Club, for his outstanding chivalric efforts for needy children. Chef Bruno and the Caterina's Club staff are working daily to ensure thousands of kids can be fed a fresh pasta dinner, in keeping with the Savoy Foundation's "Chivalry for Children's Causestm. During this unprecedented crisis, Caterina's Club has continued to provide thousands of meals, especially to children deprived of supplemental school meals during the pandemic because of school closures. The Savoy Foundation was founded for chivalric causes, among which is the care for disadvantaged children. We are ever so proud of the funds raised during this online fundraiser and to the efforts of Savoy Foundation board member and Chairman of the Virtual Event, Daniel J. McClory and his wife Florentina, and our sponsors and benefactors who made this all possible."

"We are extremely pleased and grateful for this gift during this crisis," said Chef Bruno Serato, Founder of Caterina's Club in Anaheim, California. "The demands on our services and assistance to disadvantaged children and families impacted by school closures and cancellation of supplemental meal programs have been devastating. This generous grant from the Savoy Foundation represents a tremendous boost to our philanthropic efforts to support the many families that need our help."
