VCA Charities Grants $15,000 to Pet Rescue Pilots to Help Shelter Pets Find New Homes

VCA Charities, the nonprofit partner of VCA Animal Hospitals, has provided a $15,000 grant to Pet Rescue Pilots, a 501(c)3 organization that flies pets out of shelters and lands them safely in the loving arms of rescue groups, fosters, and forever homes. Pet Rescue Pilots provide access to transport across the west coast of the United States and Canada so more shelter pets can have a chance to find a forever home.

"At VCA Charities, we want to help every pet live its best life and that means being healthy, being cared for and being loved. It also means helping pets find forever homes and Pet Rescue Pilots helps us accomplish this," said Brandon Antin, VCA Charities Board Member. "Through this partnership, pets have a better chance of being adopted because we are removing geographic barriers. Whether helping reunite military dogs with their handlers after their service has ended or transporting rescue pets to other states to find homes, Pet Rescue Pilots is helping VCA Charities improve the lives of pets, one flight and adoption at a time."

"We are honored to receive this vital grant from VCA Charities to help advance our mission, and specifically, for this special opportunity to reunite our veterans with their most loyal companions," said Julian Javor, Founder and Chief Rescue Pilot, Julian Javor. "This support allows us to move closer to fulfilling our mission to ensure all shelter pets have a chance to find loving forever homes by transcending geographic distance. We are grateful that VCA Charities not only recognizes our shared vision, but that they are helping empower Pet Rescue Pilots to continue our lifesaving work."
