Dunlop Motorcycle Tires' Dragmax makes Dominating Debut

BUFFALO, N.Y., Aug. 4, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The all-new Dragmax made its first appearance at the Xtreme Dragbike Association (XDA) event in Maryland International Raceway (MDIR), and the results speak for themselves: The Dragmax won 14 out of the 15 premier class Pro Street rounds, including the final, and 7 out of 12 rounds, including the final, in the Real Street class.

Along the way, riders choosing the new Dragmax rear tire posted two new records, including Gaige Herrera, who ran a 6.667 to become the World's Quickest Nitrous Hayabusa in Pro Street, and Spencer Claycomb, who set a new Real Street world-record ET of 7.531 seconds set in qualifying. Additionally, the overall quickest Pro Street pass of the weekend was set by Rodney Williford during testing with a 6.489 second pass at 229.39 mph on the Dragmax.

Not only did the Dragmax provide the grip to win, it also impressed several riders with its durability and ability to post more runs than they were normally able to get on other brands.

The Dragmax is a radial tire that utilizes construction similar to that of Dunlop's rear road racing slicks. This construction minimizes centrifugal growth to keep the tire footprint as consistent as possible, which also reduces the risk of de-beading. A wide and flat profile helps lay down a bigger footprint, while the overall design allows racers to run very low pressures, increasing the footprint even more for maximum traction. The tire also utilizes the softest street compound Dunlop has ever produced in its Buffalo, NY plant.
