Zabeti, Khamisa and Team Complete Move to Greenberg Traurig in London to Further Expand Global Disputes Practice

LONDON, July 9, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Following a widely reported announcement in February, Masoud Zabeti and Mohammed Khamisa QC have completed their move to the London office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as shareholders in the firm's Global Litigation and Financial Services practices. In addition, Ian Bean has joined as of counsel, and Katharine Bond as a senior associate. All join from Mishcon de Reya, where Zabeti was former Head of the Finance and Banking Disputes Group, Khamisa was a partner, and Bean and Bond were managing associates.

"Our specialist industry focus is in Financial Services, although we have broad experience in all types of commercial litigation and arbitration across many sectors and jurisdictions. In financial services, our expertise covers retail banking, investment banking and contentious financial regulation/enforcement," Zabeti said.

The new team is poised to work closely with members of Greenberg Traurig's 600-plus lawyer Global Litigation Practice and others in related areas of practice and sector teams with clients on a global scale.

"The goal is to complement existing capabilities of the London office through the work of Naomi Feinstein, Barry Vitou, Anne-Marie Ottaway, Sue Wilson, Gareth Hall, Stephen B. Brown, and others to assist clients across the UK, Europe, and the US," Khamisa said.

Fiona Adams, London office managing shareholder and co-chair of the firm's Global Corporate Practice said: "We have built a sophisticated team in London in a wide range of practices that are critical for our clients, particularly given the many new challenges we are all facing in this historic time for companies and organisations worldwide."

Lori G. Cohen and Jeff E. Scott, co-chairs of the firm's Global Litigation Practice added: "The addition of Masoud and Mohammed and their team is another example of how we continue to provide our clients with top level professionals committed to client service. They share our vision, our work ethic, and our culture of collaboration, which is all to our clients' benefit."

Zabeti represents banks, private equity houses, hedge funds, asset managers, and inter-dealer brokers on a range of disputes, including those involving corporate and property acquisition finance. Zabeti also works with clients in utilising effective civil powers granted by courts to trace and freeze assets and secure evidence worldwide. He has been recognized by Legal 500 as a Leading Individual in Banking Litigation: Investment & Retail. Legal 500 has also praised Zabeti for being a "master tactician," "determined," "bright, focused, experienced and a committed street-fighter," and for generating "superb client feedback."

Khamisa has a very diverse background from the English Bar and focuses his practice on commercial litigation, concentrating on complex multi-jurisdictional cases which often involve fraud, particularly within the banking and financial services sectors. Regularly travelling to the Middle East, Khamisa advises clients from the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Bahrain, and other regions on a wide range of matters. He has experience dealing with white-collar crime, having been on the Serious Fraud Office's Panel of Leading Counsel and formerly served as Standing Counsel for the Department of Trade and Industry. He is a Recorder of the Crown Court and County Court and a Panel Deemster of the High Court of the Isle of Man.

Ian Bean has 13 years of experience in complex financial services litigation and broader commercial disputes.
