EnviroCompétences launches its 100 for 500 training program!

MONTREAL, June 25, 2020 /CNW/ - EnviroCompétences is excited to announce the launch of the 100 for 500 training program. The program will provide funding for five hundred environmental skills training courses for professionals and technicians. "Thanks to the PACME program of the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Solidarity, Jean Boulet, a hundred environmental professionals will have free access to a series of training courses and can select five topics from eight online options available. These training courses will serve to build learning through an active educational approach" explains Dominique Dodier, Managing Director of EnviroCompétences.

This training responds to needs that emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic, and will help professionals resume activities with fresh skills and knowledge. The objective of this program is to make established online training courses available to companies in the environmental sector. In these difficult times, and often due to financial limitations, technicians and professionals in the environmental sector may be reluctant to invest in training. EnviroCompétences will provide access to free training to support the development of their skills.

This tailor-made formula will allow participants to choose the skills to develop, the pace, and the order in which the learner wishes to complete the training. Expert videos, real-life-inspired scenarios, workbooks and more will help them learn practical and concrete skills.

This program is offered in connection with our partner, ECO Canada (Environmental Careers Organization of Canada).

Kevin Nilsen, President & CEO at ECO Canada, notes that "ECO Canada strives to provide skills upgrading and training programs that will enable practitioners to find career success in the environmental sector. As Canada shifts to a skills economy, employers need resources to ensure their staff have essential technical and soft skills that will move the business goals forward. These are desirable outcomes that bring employment growth in Quebec and further pushes economic recovery forward," says Kevin Nilsen, President and CEO of ECO Canada".
