SIIA Government Relations Executive Joins All-Star Roster of Healthcare and Specialty Pharmacy Experts at AscellaHealth Educational Webinar Series
AscellaHealth, a national specialty pharmacy benefit manager (SPBMTM) serving commercial, Medicare and Medicaid segments, announces that Ryan C. Work, vice president, Government Relations, Self-Insurance Institute of America (SIIA), has joined the lineup for its 2020 three-episode webinar series, "From Evolution to Revolution: How the Rise of Specialty Pharmacy Drove a New PBM Model." Work will participate on Episode 2: "Evolution of the PBM Business Model for Specialty Medical Rx," Aug. 27, 1:00 p.m. ET (60 min.), which examines new solutions of a streamlined PBM model that uses data analytics to improve adherence, patient outcomes and manage the total cost of the claim.

At SIIA, Work leads federal advocacy and political activities on captive and self-insurance issues and is responsible for developing and managing strategic outreach and policy development before Congress, the Administration and various federal regulatory agencies. He also directs various initiatives within SIIA, including the Drug Pricing Task Force, which is working towards industry best practices to manage rising drug costs.
Prior to joining SIIA, Work was senior director of Government Affairs for S&P Global (previously McGraw Hill Financial), where he represented brands including Standard & Poor's, Platts, J.D. Power and BusinessWeek. He has served in a number of senior staff positions within the U.S. Congress, most recently as legislative director for Republican Conference chair Cathy McMorris-Rodgers (WA). He previously served as chief of staff to Rep. Katherine Harris (FL) and in various roles with the Committee on Ways and Means and the Office of the Speaker of the House. Work is a frequent speaker on legislative and regulatory issues and was included on Captive Review's Enterprise Risk Captive Pioneers List.
SIIA is a member-based association dedicated to protecting and promoting the business interests of companies involved in the self-insurance and captive insurance industry. Members include, self-insurance entities, TPAs, captive managers, excess/stop-loss carriers and other industry service providers.
