ASQ Announces 2020 Fellow Citations for Achievements to the Advancement of Quality


MILWAUKEE, May 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ASQ has named eight members as Fellows for their achievements and contributions to the advancement of quality.

ASQ has nearly 650 active Fellows who represent diverse industries on a global scale. Fellow membership status is awarded to individuals who are ASQ members in good standing and meet the following criteria:

"ASQ Fellows are role models in the quality community," said ASQ Chair Austin S. Lin. "These individuals bring so much passion, not just to the profession, but to the Society and we are proud to have them join our Fellows community."

Due to the cancellation of ASQ's 2020 annual conference, the new Fellows will be recognized in a ceremony prior to ASQ's World Conference on Quality and Improvement held May 20201 in Anaheim, Calif.

The 2020 ASQ Fellows, in alphabetical order, are:

Lawrence Bartkus, Retired, Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA ? "For outstanding contributions in advancing quality through original theory and techniques in experimental design, analysis, robust parameter design, process optimization, and quality assessment; for collaborations that bridge industry and academy; for advancing statistical thinking in companies through an internal statistics curriculum; for service to the profession, promoting use of quality engineering principles for strategic advantage in industry; and for significant contribution at both section and division levels and continued dedication to ASQ and quality profession."

Sachin Garg, IndoSpace Capital Advisors, Mumbai, India ? "For his outstanding leadership in implementing quality and business excellence practices in multiple organizations leading to sustainable business results; for building technical competence required to teach quality concepts within his organization and external assignments; and for spreading the global voice of quality through local member communities in India."

Karen J. Hulting, Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN ? "For outstanding contributions and leadership in statistical methods and quality technologies in the medical device industry; for excellence in mentoring and education in process and measurement system qualification, control, and monitoring; and for serving ASQ through certification, conference, and technical community activities."
