Kyruus to Power Boston Children's Hospital's Next Phase of Digital Transformation

Kyruus, the leader in provider search and scheduling solutions for health systems, today announced that Boston Children's Hospital, the top pediatric hospital in the United States, has engaged the company to enhance access to its world-renowned providers and facilities. Boston Children's will utilize Kyruus' leading provider data management platform and consumer-facing digital solutions to bolster the online access experience on its website and enable more granular patient-provider matching ? pillars of the hospital's next phase of digital transformation.

Ranked the number one pediatric hospital by U.S. News and World Report for six straight years, Boston Children's is one of the country's largest pediatrics-focused medical centers and research institutions with 40 clinical departments and almost 2,000 providers. The organization has also been at the forefront of digital innovation for patients and their families and, as the team looked to expand online self-service capabilities, obtaining a more comprehensive and detailed view of the highly specialized provider network was a clear first step. Boston Children's will enrich their provider directory utilizing the KyruusOne® platform and its physician-curated clinical taxonomy, which includes a range of new terms pertaining to COVID-19.

"Our team has been meaningfully growing our digital offering for a number of years now," said Bill Gagnon, Senior Director of Digital Marketing at Boston Children's Hospital. "We're looking forward to working with Kyruus to better meet and exceed the expectations of our families."

Leveraging the enhanced directory, Boston Children's will launch a new online experience with Kyruus ProviderMatch® for Consumers to help caregivers find the right providers for their child's needs and book online when possible. With a sophisticated routing engine and modern search design, ProviderMatch lets users hone in dynamically on the right matches based on a patient's particular clinical needs ? down to the level of specific condition or procedure ? as well as logistical factors such as availability, language, and insurance. The solution also provides an underpinning for condition-based routing of care to extended offerings like urgent care clinics and virtual care options as organizations look to triage patients during the current crisis and over the longer-term.

"We are extremely proud to have many of the best pediatric specialists in the world practicing at Boston Children's," said John Brownstein, PhD, Chief Innovation Officer at Boston Children's Hospital. "In planning out our digital priorities, we knew that representing them richly online and enabling a more robust digital search process would require a strategy grounded in data management. We're excited to collaborate with Kyruus to execute this strategy and achieve our next major digital milestones."

Boston Children's will also offer online scheduling through its website for the first time with Kyruus. An integration with the hospital's EHR platform will allow users to view available appointments and book online in ProviderMatch, facilitating a new level of convenience.

"Expanding online access was already a growing priority for hospitals across the country, but the current pandemic has thrust it even more into the spotlight," said Graham Gardner, MD, CEO of Kyruus. "We're honored to support the team at Boston Children's as they build on their history of innovation and bring a new level of digital access for the patients and families who seek their care from around the world."
