Sun Mar Healthcare Honors Essential Workers with In-N-Out Parking Lot Cookout

BREA, Calif., May 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sun Mar Healthcare wants to celebrate the hard-working frontline essential workers currently serving nearly 3,000 residents in nursing facilities throughout California. To that end, Sun Mar has contracted with In-N-Out Burger to host afternoon parking lot cookouts in a much-deserved staff appreciation celebration.

During the month of May (from May 8 to May 22), In-N-Out Burger will be sending a Cookout Truck to each facility, providing lunch to the staff (150-plus employees per facility), from 2 to 4 p.m.

In California, healthcare workers are in increasingly high demand and under ever-growing stress. Even prior to the COVID-19-pandemic, Sun Mar Healthcare was committed to doing all it could to protect its employees and patients. Facilities have restricted all non-essential visitors, and staff are required to pass a temperature and symptom screening daily prior to entering the work area. However, as the epidemic stretches on, Sun Mar Healthcare feels it is not enough to just protect its employees; it must celebrate them as well.

"The world is paying even closer attention to healthcare workers right now than ever before. The spotlight is on and we want them to truly shine. This is a moment for all team members to be applauded for their tireless and selfless work," said Bryce Porter, CMS of Sun Mar Healthcare. "In-N-Out is a Southern California classic and what better way to put a smile on the faces of the team and show them how much they're loved and appreciated."

Each cookout will feature giveaways and more. In addition to their lunch, every staff member will receive a "Superheros Wear Scrubs" T-shirt.

"At Sun Mar Healthcare, we believe our team members are true superheroes," Porter said. "They put themselves on the frontlines of this pandemic around the clock out of love and compassion to the seniors for which they care. They go and do the work that few people are brave enough to do right now."
