Scotiabank launches priority line for frontline healthcare workers and seniors

Providing healthcare workers and seniors with priority options to do their banking safely from home

TORONTO, April 7, 2020 /CNW/ - Scotiabank announced today the launch of front of the line service through our Canadian contact centre for frontline healthcare workers in appreciation of their courageous efforts during COVID-19. Starting April 13, 2020, physicians, nurses, paramedics and other healthcare personnel will be prioritized by our contact centre teams, who will support customers with their banking needs and ensure these workers receive the dedicated service they deserve at this time.

Seniors age 75 years and older will also receive priority service when they call our contact centre ? an additional measure to protect our senior customers by providing them with safer banking alternatives by phone, online and through the Scotia mobile banking app. Meeting the needs of seniors is a key commitment for Scotiabank. We have appointed a senior level executive as our Senior's Champion to prioritize the needs of seniors as we deliver banking products and services to customers.

"Our priority line service is just one of the ways we have been putting our customers first. Our healthcare workers are in the frontlines of this COVID-19 situation. We must do everything we can to support them, just as they have been supporting Canadians from coast to coast," said Dan Rees, Group Head, Canadian Banking for Scotiabank. "We have also launched this option for our senior customers, providing them with priority service through our contact centre so that they can do their banking safely from home."

Customers can complete many of their banking needs from home, 24 hours a day, through online banking and our mobile banking app. This includes: viewing account balances and transactions, paying bills, transferring money between accounts, sending and receiving Interac e-transfers, sending a Scotia International Money Transfer, or depositing cheques through the app. Healthcare workers and seniors can also contact Scotiabank directly by phone to receive priority line service using their ScotiaCard number for any other banking needs.
