After the season was brought to an abrupt halt on March 15 due to the COVID-19 virus, the NASCAR world has shifted to virtual events at virtual tracks that coincide with the original NASCAR schedule so fans are still able to come together and enjoy their favorite sport.

Some of the series top drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin, got together with the idea of bringing iRacing to national television. Fox Sports jumped on board and what quickly evolved was the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series. Two weeks in, the nationally televised virtual races have far exceeded expectations, averaging more than a million viewers.
