Sanuvox Technologies of Montreal calls on the Government of Quebec to make use of ultraviolet sterilization for the rapid disinfection of hospitals and other medical environments in the fight against the COVID-19 coronavirus

MONTREAL, April 2, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - "Sanuvox ultraviolet technologies have been used for decades to disinfect air and surfaces in hospitals and in research facilities around the world. Now is the time to put Sanuvox to work in Québec, in the fight of our lives."

So say the founder of Sanuvox Technologies Dr. Normand Brais, P.Eng., M.A.Sc., Ph.D., and company CEO Jocelyn Dame.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) disinfects 99.999 percent of the air and surfaces in an chirurgical operating room, a waiting room, a doctor's office, a patient's room. Nothing is left to chance with respect to handling errors and person hours and other costs are considerably reduced.

Sanuvox technologies are based on those that are in use in water treatment plants, in the food industry and in leading hospitals in the United States, in Australia and in South Korea. In Ontario, Sanuvox ASEPT.2X UVGI sterilization towers are already at work eradicating viruses, bacteria, protozoa and microorganisms. The UV light robs organisms of their ability to reproduce and they thus lose their ability to infect.

"Whereas a conventional disinfection process in an emergency room will take a team of workers about 2 hours to perform, with an efficiency coefficient of perhaps 50 percent, a Sanuvox disinfection tower will eradicate 99.9 percent of pathogens in the air and on surfaces in 5 minutes" says Dr. Brais. No human error. Nothing overlooked. No lingering pathogens.

Since the early days of cholera, polio, typhoid and hepatitis, humans have tirelessly fought to eradicate pathogens that have caused so many to suffer and die. In 1903, Danish physician Niels Finsen received a Nobel prize for his use of ultraviolet light in the fight against lupus and tuberculosis. More than a century later, we are abruptly thrust into a new world and a new age of searching and destroying organisms that threaten our lives.  Sanuvox stands ready to provide UVGI towers for immediate delivery. The ASEPT.2X units are automated and they can be controlled remotely for use in any care environment. The time to act is now. We owe it to our health care workers to provide them with the best tools so that we may win this fight of our lives.
