RCMP arrest individual in relation to cocaine importation
TORONTO, March 26, 2020 /CNW/ - In December 2019 members of the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested two females for importing approximately 4 kg of cocaine into Canada from St. Maarten.
As a result of this, members of the RCMP Toronto Airport Detachment entered into an investigation to identify the person(s) responsible for recruiting couriers to import illicit drugs into the country through Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Investigators executed a search warrant at an Etobicoke address and identified Courtney Arthur Dennis of Toronto as being involved in the importation of cocaine.
On March 18th 2020 Dennis (44 years old) of Etobicoke was arrested and charged with:
- Importation of a controlled substance (Cocaine) into Canada - contrary to Controlled Drug and Substances Act;
- Conspiracy to import controlled substance (Cocaine) into Canada ? contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC);
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle ? contrary to the CCC;
- Flight from Police ? contrary to the CCC;
- Drive While Disqualified ? contrary to the CCC.
Dennis was released on bail and will appear in court on May 27th, 2020 in Brampton.

This investigation demonstrates the commitment of the RCMP to work closely with their law enforcement partners and the public to protect our communities and our borders," stated Inspector Barry Dolan, Officer in charge of Toronto Airport Detachment.
