Caesarstone Continues Support Of Veterans With Another Season Of Montel Williams' "Military Makeover"

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 20, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Caesarstone, the world's first high-quality premium quartz surface company to utilize advanced technologies and expertise, is pleased to continue its support of American veterans by sponsoring another season of "Military Makeover," veteran, co-producer and host Montel William's inspiring show that transforms the homes and lives of military families across the country. The final episode reveal of the Hollywood, FL home of U.S. Navy veteran Chris Hixon took place today on Lifetime® TV.

Military Makeover with Montel Williams is an inspiring home improvement series that salutes brave servicemen and women who have served and sacrificed for America. Each season, a renowned design crew along with TV personalities, travel to various cities across the U.S. to offer a helping hand to veterans and their families. Williams, a 22-year United States Marine Corps and Navy veteran, has been a passionate advocate for veterans and wellness for decades. Art Edmonds and WWE star Lacey Evans join Williams to co-host the "Military Makeover" series.

For this latest season, the makeover crew traveled to Hollywood, FL to renovate the home of 27-year U.S. Navy veteran Chris Hixon, a retired Machinist Mate First Class who bravely served his country in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm. Sadly, he lost his life in 2018 during the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting when he rushed into the freshman building to attempt to bring down the shooter and save the lives of school children.

The Military Makeover honors his service and bravery, with a remodel of the home that Hixon shared with wife Debra and their two sons, Corey and Thomas, a Reserve Corps Marine Officer. HGTV Design Star winner, Jennifer Bertrand, head of construction Ryan Stanley, and members of their crews completed the makeover of the Hixon family home. Major national brands and local companies (many of whom provide financial support), and volunteers got together to donate their products, time, and hard work to such a deserving family.

Caesarstone was pleased to provide multiple quartz surfaces for the home. In the kitchen, designers chose Empira White to bring in a timeless, yet urban look. The uplifting surface is an interpretation of authentic Calacatta marble. Additionally, designers selected Flannel Grey for the bathrooms due to its versatile nature. This color features dark grey accents that swirl across a soothing medium heather grey base. Like all Caesarstone quartz surfaces, Empira White and Flannel Grey are nonporous, greatly reducing the potential for bacterial growth and making it simple to clean?in most cases, soap and water or a mild detergent is all that is required to maintain its luster. It also provides maximum resistance to staining and fully eliminates the need for any sealing, providing an extradurable surface. And making them truly worry-free, all Caesarstone surfaces are guaranteed for life, which is perfect for a busy family like the Hixons.

"We are proud to continue our support for 'Military Makeover' as they continue to salute veterans for their service to the country," said Elizabeth Margles, VP of Marketing Caesarstone North America. "It was wonderful to be part of such an amazing project and help to renew the home of the deserving Hixon family. We hope that they enjoy the home for years to come and that our beautiful and durable Caesarstone surfaces add to that joy. We look forward to the show's next season when they travel to Lincolnton, NC, which is just outside Caesarstone's hometown of Charlotte."
