2nd Skin becomes the largest textile printing company in Eastern Canada!

QUEBEC CITY, March 11, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - Last year on its 15th anniversary, 2nd Skin reported investments of over $600,000 in advanced technology to serve the Ontario and Maritime markets. Today, the Limoilou-based company is proud to announce that it recently acquired the textile division of Id pro, a major screen?printing production center. With this new acquisition, 2nd Skin is now the largest textile printing company in Eastern Canada and is looking to expand into the rest of the country!

The acquisition has significantly increased 2nd Skin's production capacity. With nine automatic screen?printing presses in a new 17,000 sq. ft. plant, the company can now turn out 25,000 prints per shift, compared to the 4,500 to 5,000 sweatshirts a day it used to print. The company has also invested in new embroidery equipment to enhance the department's service offer, increasing the number of embroidery heads from 13 to 19. With 2nd Skin's DTG printing, vinyl transfer, sublimation printing, and laser engraving divisions, Id pro's distributor clients will now have access to a wider range of services.

In a move designed to optimize production and offer employees a stimulating working environment, 2nd Skin is also transitioning towards Industry 4.0 and has started automating its processes. The Skills management system developed and implemented by 2nd Skin has been welcomed with open arms by the Id pro team, since it makes it easier to communicate with other departments and considerably increases profitability while maintaining the fastest turnaround times in the industry.

2nd Skin is a people-oriented company, and management plans to retain all current staff, whose numbers will grow from 24 to 42. 2nd Skin cares about its employees and has flexible working hours so staff can strike a healthy work-life balance.

We'll be hearing more about 2nd Skin as managers continue to work with staff to achieve their development goals. The acquisition of Id pro is just the beginning of a great new adventure for this thriving Limoilou-based business!
