Congressional Candidate Laura Loomer Becomes First Campaign In The Nation To Modify Tactics To Increase Volunteer And Community Safety During Coronavirus Threat

PALM BEACH, Fla., March 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday morning, out of concern for the health and safety of campaign volunteers and the residents of Florida's 21st Congressional District, Republican Congressional Candidate Laura Loomer cancelled her petition drive to appear on the primary ballot and will instead pay the filing fee of $10,440 to obtain ballot access.

Laura Loomer stated, "While voter engagement is a passion for me and our campaign volunteers, following the White House and CDC's recommendations I felt it best to limit the community's exposure to the Coronavirus in every way that I could.  We're not placing a single volunteer's health or community wellness ahead of our campaign goals."

General Consultant to Laura Loomer for Congress, Karen Giorno stated, "Our volunteers and staff are healthy, and we plan to stay that way.  Our tactics are changing out of necessity and will not slow down the growth and enthusiasm of this winning campaign."

Florida's 21st Congressional District is home to the Trump family and a significant number of Senior Citizens and their health and safety is a priority to the campaign.

In addition to ending the petition drive, the campaign is also temporarily suspending door-knocking activities within the community and shifting voter interaction to home phone banking and online outreach.

Loomer's campaign is the undisputed frontrunner in the primary race and has outraised all other opponents in the election combined since announcing her candidacy in August of 2019.

The first quarter of 2020 is two weeks away and the campaign will be reporting the strong fundraising totals on March 31st.

Loomer emphasized, "Shifting campaign tactics to keep our community of Senior Citizens healthy won't deter or lessen our effectiveness and I look forward to the sprint to the end as soon as the risk of the Coronavirus passes."

Laura Loomer for Congress is the first campaign in the nation to modify election activities to lessen the spread of COVID-19.
