Lt. Col. Allen West Will Be Speaking at the Alamo with the Alamo Defenders Descendants Association to Stop the Plan to Move the Cenotaph
GARLAND, Texas, March 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Lt. Col. Allen West will be in San Antonio, TX at the Cenotaph tomorrow at 4pm CST to speak and show support for the Alamo Defenders Descendants Association.
This group of Texas Patriots is working to stop the Cenotaph from being moved as well as a glass wall from being raised that would limit access to the famous site. Lee White, one of the leaders of the ADDA, has commented that "the ADDA is honored to welcome Lt. Col. West who is a modern-day patriot and Alamo Defender. We are thrilled to have him join us to defend a site that is historical and sacred to all real Texans."
Texans in the Republican Primary overwhelmingly supported Proposition #7 by over 97%. The proposition stated, "Texans should protect and preserve all historical monuments, artifacts, and buildings, such as the Alamo Cenotaph and our beloved Alamo, and should oppose any reimagining of the Alamo site."
In his remarks this Friday, West will highlight his support for preserving the Alamo, and how if elected Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas he will make sure war memorials such as the Cenotaph will be protected in perpetuity.
