Luminator Technology Group Increases Manufacturing Capabilities in New York State

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y., Jan. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Luminator Technology Group (Luminator) announces today the expansion of its Plattsburgh, New York, manufacturing facility. This initiative aims to enhance test and production capabilities for customers in New York State and comes on the heels of the New York Public Transit Association's (NYPTA's) recent call for a $100 million annual investment to meet the needs for upstate and suburban downstate transit infrastructure systems.

Along with NYPTA's call for increased investment, the expansion of services at its Plattsburgh facility allows Luminator to support its local and regional customers, including the Metropolitan Transit Authority, with excellence in production, testing and quality assurance.

Luminator has increased its Plattsburgh-based workforce in recent months, adding technical, planning and assembly positions. Facility improvements have also led to greater capacity and enhanced test facilities ? the addition of temperature and humidity controlled testing chambers enable a higher-level of quality testing. The Plattsburgh facility also provides electrical continuity testing and functionality testing for all products to ensure all solutions manufactured can withstand shock, vibration, power and temperature fluctuations that are common in transit applications, therefore delivering the highest reliability and durability for customers.

"It is our goal to provide customers access to best-in-class service and technology through our global expertise in the design and manufacturing of passenger information, lighting and display solutions," said Rod Jones, president of Mass Transit North America, Luminator Technology Group. "We're excited for the expansion of our US manufacturing capabilities in Plattsburgh. This growth will ensure our customers in New York State and surrounding area can take full advantage of our unique offerings."

Luminator's 20,000-square-foot production facility is located in the Air Industrial Park at 1523 Military Turnpike.
