AnitaB.org Acquires Wogrammer to Fuel Progress Toward 50/50 Intersectional Gender Equity in Tech by 2025
Today, AnitaB.org announced that it has acquired Wogrammer, a global organization focused on breaking stereotypes and inspiring women and girls to pursue careers in STEM.
Wogrammer joins the AnitaB.org suite of programs that support intersectional tech equity and will continue its work to amplify the diverse voices of women in technology around the world.
"Women have been building paths in technology since the beginning, but most have been hidden in the background. In order for equity in tech to be achieved, we must erase the inaccurate stereotypes that say engineering or computer science is only men's work," said Brenda Darden Wilkerson, AnitaB.org, President and CEO. "Wogrammer has done incredible work to elevate women technologists and the world-changing innovations they are creating. We are excited and I am very pleased to join forces with the organization to advance 50/50 tech equity."
Since 2015, Wogrammer has used the power of stories to celebrate the technical contributions of women, shedding light on the important issues women face in the workplace and fostering a shared sense of belonging and empowerment among women in tech. Combining shared strengths and resources under one mission allows AnitaB.org and Wogrammer to create a larger collective impact on the representation of all women in technology.
