MFDA Hearing Panel issues Reasons for Decision in the matter of David Dekker
TORONTO, Dec. 18, 2019 /CNW/ - A Hearing Panel of the Central Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada ("MFDA") has issued its Reasons for Decision dated December 17, 2019 ("Reasons for Decision") in connection with a settlement hearing held in Toronto, Ontario on October 31, 2019 in the matter of David Edward Dekker ("Respondent").
In its Reasons for Decision, the Hearing Panel confirmed the sanctions imposed on the Respondent. In particular, the Respondent:
shall pay a fine of $12,500, payable in instalments as follows:
$7,500, upon acceptance of the Settlement Agreement
$5,000, on or before April 30, 2020;
has paid costs of $2,500; and
shall in future comply with MFDA Rules 1.1.1(a), 1.1.2, 2.1.1 and 2.5.1.
A copy of the Reasons for Decision is available on the MFDA website at www.mfda.ca. During the period described in the Reasons for Decision, the Respondent carried on business in St. Catharines, Ontario.
