KBS and Transwestern Donate More Than 7,500 Wreaths to Honor Fallen U.S. Soldiers
KBS, one of the largest owners of premier commercial real estate in the nation, and Transwestern today announce the companies collected donations for 7,500 wreaths for Wreaths Across America. The organization honors fallen U.S. veterans by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 1,700 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.
"We would like to share our utmost appreciation for those who generously donated to Wreaths Across America in support of our armed forces," said Tom Lawyer, President of Transwestern Commercial Services. "We are forever grateful to the men and women who serve our country."
The companies collected donations at 30 KBS-owned properties where Transwestern provides property management services. Transwestern and KBS made a matching donation of 2,000 wreaths.
"We stand proudly behind Wreaths Across America's mission to remember fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve and teach children the value of freedom," said Marc DeLuca, regional president, Eastern United States for KBS. "Thanks to our generous tenants and employees, in the last four years we were able to pay tribute to more than 19,000 fallen veterans."
On National Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, Dec. 14, volunteers will gather in participating cemeteries to place live balsam wreaths on every veteran headstone as an act of respect, gratitude and remembrance. Those interested in volunteering can sign up on the Wreaths Across America website.
