ESO Acquires Lancet Technology, Adds Trauma Registry Software to Extensive Product Portfolio

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ESO, the leading data and software company serving emergency medical services (EMS), fire departments and hospitals, today announced its acquisition of Lancet Technology to strengthen and extend its core product portfolio across the healthcare spectrum. By combining the assets, expertise and customer base of Lancet with newly acquired Digital Innovation and Clinical Data Management, ESO will have the largest portfolio of state trauma registries in the United States and will deliver a world's first ? the ability to see time-sensitive emergencies and patient data from the time of first 911 call for help all the way through a patient leaving the hospital.

"The acquisition of Lancet, similar to our acquisitions of Digital Innovation and Clinical Data Management, helps us continue to deliver on our mission to improve community health and safety and better respond to time-sensitive emergencies," said Chris Dillie, President and CEO of ESO. "By adding thousands of hospitals and 26 state trauma registries to our existing customer base and data set, we are, for the first time, able to paint the full patient story that delivers better patient care and essential insights to drive both patient and provider safety."

Lancet Technology has a 30-year history as a trauma registry software and data provider. In addition to the company's flagship product, TraumaOne, ESO will be acquiring a number of trauma-related assets and products, including Lancet's state trauma registry products and software.

"We're excited for the future with ESO and the investment they will make to update the trauma technology we've developed," said Leon Bowman, President of Lancet Technology. "They are leading the evolution in the way our industry looks at and uses data, which ultimately results in more efficient hospital operations and patient care."

The combination of Digital Innovation, CDM and Lancet's technology and trauma data with ESO's industry leading ESO EHR and award-winning ESO HDE will provide both EMS and hospitals with a comprehensive patient picture that will allow both providers and hospital staff to make the most informed decisions when it comes to patient care. Additionally, EMS and hospitals will have access to outcomes data that will improve the quality of care.

Details of the deal were not disclosed.
