Media Invitation - Noël pour tous: Welcome Hall Mission distributes 7000 holiday gifts to Montreal's most underprivileged children!

MONTRÉAL, Nov. 29, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - The 'Noël pour tous' annual holiday event by Welcome Hall Mission will be taking place on November 30th in an effort to spark joy in the hearts of Montreal's most underprivileged children. During the largest toy distribution in Quebec, more than 2260 children will meet Santa Claus and walk away with some amazing holiday gifts. For some of these children, having just arrived in Quebec this year, it will mark their first Christmas celebration ever. Children receiving gifts during the day are all members of families touched by Welcome Hall Mission through multiple services such as Marché Bon Accueil (a free grocery store) or Coeur à Soeur (the young mothers in need program). Throughout the month of December, their parents will also be able to fill up their fridges with nourishing, healthy and festive food from Marché Bon Accueil.

The role of Santa Claus will be performed by none other then Mr. Benoit Dorais, President of the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal and Mayor of the Southwest Borough. He will be in great company with over 100 volunteers, including fellow politicians, the Honorable David Lametti, Minister of Justice, and Mr. Sterling Downey, Verdun City Counsellor- all of whom will become elves for a day during the distribution of almost 7000 gifts! Finally, the presence of former Montreal Canadiens players, Lucien Deblois, Normand Dupont and Gaston Gingras should be a hit as the men will don their jerseys and will be available to mingle and take photos with the crowd!

Families will also benefit from a 50% discount on all items at Welcome Hall Mission's La Boutique, which, in addition to offering new and used fashionable quality clothing, is also a training environment that employs participants from the Education and Employability program.

Welcome Hall Mission would like to thank Café Southside, Hasbro, Mega Brands and VoluntEARS Disney for their generous contributions that are sure to make 'Noël pour tous' an unforgettable event.

Welcome Hall Mission: Shelter, Food, Love
Founded in 1892, Welcome Hall Mission is today the largest gateway to help Montrealers. Mostly funded through private donations, the organization aims to give hope to people experiencing homelessness, young single mothers in needs, struggling families and street youth by offering concrete programs and effective solutions to help them improve their lives, reintegrate into the community and thus help to transform the city.

Welcome Hall Mission is proud to offer its clients a grocery shopping experience that promotes dignity and autonomy. Marché Bon Accueil provides food assistance to up to 3000 low-income Montrealers every single week, making it the largest direct-to-public food security program in Montreal. During their visit, clients can browse the aisles and select from a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, frozen meat and other nutritious foods, which are so important to them. Last year alone, nearly one million kilograms of food was distributed.
